Melusi Baloyi is the Founder and Managing Partner of Kedari and a senior qualified actuary with extensive international experience across Africa, Europe, and North America. Since entering the actuarial profession in 2011, he has built deep expertise in life insurance, microinsurance, and reinsurance, and has served as Chief Actuary for a major global reinsurer focused on African markets. Melusi currently acts as Appointed Actuary and Head of Actuarial Function for several life and microinsurance companies, advising boards on risk management and prudential oversight.

He is a Council Member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (the highest decision making body) and a leading voice in the microinsurance sector, chairing the ASSA Microinsurance Practice Area Committee and engaging regularly with regulators. He is recognised for his ability to lead complex projects, support licensing and operational setup, and deliver strategic actuarial solutions with precision and impact.
